Friday Featured Speaker: The Honorable David M. Walker As the most recent Comptroller General of the United States and the new CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, David Walker has traveled the country on a "Fiscal Wake-Up Tour." On Friday, September 5, he gave NFCA attendees a clear analysis of seemingly complex U.S. budget policies and solutions for the future.
Walker's tour is chronicled in the critically-acclaimed documentary I.O.U.S.A., which premiered August 21, 2008, and is now playing in theaters in 11 cities nationwide. Click here to view segments of I.O.U.S.A. online or check out the website at www.IOUSATheMovie.com.
"A Citizen's Guide to the Financial Condition of the United States Government" is available on the Peter G. Peterson Foundation website at www.pgpf.org or click here to download a copy from the site. As mentioned in Walker's presentation, this Citizen's Guide is intended to provide a clear and concise summary of where our nation stands financially and where it is headed fiscally. You will find a description of what's at stake, a proposed path forward, and a series of actions you can take.
