Haiti Disaster Relief Efforts
01/14/10
This week, a devastating earthquake struck Haiti, resulting in tragic and widespread death and destruction. Some estimates put the death toll at more than 100,000. President Obama has been receiving updates on the urgent situation in Haiti, and top members of his team have been convening to formulate the government response. (Click here to watch the President's remarks or to read the transcript.)
In times of disaster, the fraternal benefit industry historically has opened its collective heart and wallet to provide disaster relief funds and prayers. We again call on all fraternalists to provide whatever relief you can to the victims of this global disaster. Many of you already are responding and have contributed tens of thousands of dollars to this most altruistic and fraternal of causes. We thank you and remind everyone that any effort, no matter the size, is important.
Please click here for a special reporting form that will allow you to record your Haiti relief donations. NFCA will post a running total of these donations on our Web site.
NFCA is committed to steering timely assistance to those most in need. Please be sure to keep us informed of your activities, so that we may keep our fraternal brothers and sisters and the general public informed about what the fraternal benefit system is contributing to the relief and reconstruction efforts. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at nfca@nfcanet.org.
