The National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA) announced the hiring of Linda McLaughlin as its new Manager of Administrative Services.
In this position, McLaughlin will be responsible for day-to-day operations management, including maintaining financial operations of the association; developing and implementing personnel policies, benefits programs and maintenance of personnel records; and providing facility management support. McLaughlin begins work at the NFCA today, July 23.
“We’re delighted to have Linda join the NFCA headquarters staff,” said NFCA Interim President and CEO Bob Huxel. “She will assist the staff and membership by managing the headquarters office and its daily operations.”
McLaughlin has more than 15 years of administrative experience with various organizations. Most recently, she was the Office Manager for the Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation in Downers Grove, Illinois. She holds an Associates Degree in Word Processing Management from the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
McLaughlin is a member and secretary of the Downers Grove Noon Lions Club. She is the team captain for the “Light the Night Walk,” which raised $7,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She also is the co-founder of the Puffer School KIDS Club, an after-school childcare program.
McLaughlin and her husband, Larry, have two children and reside in Downers Grove, Illinois.
About the NFCA The 121-year-old NFCA unites 76 not-for-profit fraternal benefit societies operating in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. The association represents 10 million fraternalists in 37,000 local chapters, making it one of America’s largest member-volunteer networks. Fraternal benefit societies provide their members with leadership, social, educational, spiritual, patriotic, scholarship, financial and volunteer-service opportunities. Combined, the NFCA’s member-societies maintain more than $324 billion of life insurance-in-force and, in 2005 alone, contributed almost $400 million to charitable and fraternal programs, and volunteered 93 million hours for community-service projects. These statistics demonstrate the commitment that fraternals make to those in need and exemplify the true meaning of the NFCA signature phrase: Joining Hands to Touch Lives.
