WFLA's Randall Kolarik Named Fraternal FIC of the Year Denmark resident receives award for recognizing the fraternal activities of full-time FICs.
The National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA) announced that Randall W. Kolarik, LUTCF, FIC, Western Fraternal Life Association (WFLA), from Denmark, Wisconsin, is this year's recipient of the Fraternal FIC of the Year Award—a joint award program of the Fraternal Field Managers Association (FFMA), the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counselors (NAFIC) and the NFCA. Kolarik was recognized at the Celebration of Fraternalism luncheon at the 122nd NFCA Annual Meeting, September 4-6, in Washington, D.C.
“Fraternals are alive and well, and provide enormous benefit to America, because of people like Randy Kolarik,” said Joseph Kuzma, WFLA District #2 Director. “I’m proud to know Randy and be his director for WFLA.”
In 2005, the NFCA’s Board of Directors suggested that an award be established to acknowledge the fraternal contributions fraternal insurance counsellors, or FICs, make to their local communities, recognizing that to many individuals, a fraternal benefit society’s local fraternal insurance counselor is the “face of fraternalism.” The FFMA and the NAFIC endorsed the idea and offered their full support.
Kolarik has been involved in the insurance business since he joined WFLA in 1989. He has spent many of the subsequent years promoting fraternalism in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan. He actively participates at the local, district and state level meetings often serving as a moderator. He has won numerous awards with WFLA including Agent of the Year, President’s Cabinet, Million Dollar Producer, FIC of the Year, and the Golden Quill award. Kolarik is a successful agent with a persistency record for sales of 96.64%.
Kolarik was elected as the President of the WFLA National Convention in 2003. He was elected to the Wisconsin FIC board in 2004. He served as the 2006 Vice-President and 2007 President of the NAFIC in Wisconsin. He was awarded the FIC of the Year award in 2007.
On the local level, Kolarik serves as his lodge’s coordinator for the national JOIN HANDS DAY, sponsored by the NFCA. He brings local Boy, Girl and Cub scouts together with WFLA Lodge 108 at the Maribel Caves County Park to clear weeds and remove sediment from the caves to preserve them for future generations. Kolarik leads Lodge 108’s “Adopt a Highway” program - cleaning up local roadways. He also is the head Booyah cook for the Lodge party every fall.
Kolarik also is active in his local community. He has served as past Trustee of the Holy Trinity Parish of New Denmark and has assisted with many of the activities of the Denmark Boy Scout Troop 1052. He also volunteers to help sort items for donation at St. Vincent de Paul. He volunteers to help with the Secret Santa shop at Denmark Elementary School. He is a member of the high gallon club with the local Red Cross, donating over 27 gallons of platelets via apheresis.
Kolarik and his wife, Jodi, have three children and reside in Denmark, WI.
As the Fraternal FIC of the Year, Kolarik receives a $1,000 honorarium to be donated to a charity of his choice. Kolarik has selected the Make A Wish Foundation of Wisconsin to receive this gift.
